Being a part of a mastermind group is a two way street, you will be able to both give and get from your group. However just like everything else in life what you put into it will be reflected in what you get out of it. Here are five tips to assist you in becoming the best mastermind group member you can be.
Here are five tips that will allow you to be a great mastermind member, the one who everyone wants to partner with.

1. Be on time - when you are on time you are demonstrating and honoring your group. Mastermind calls or meetings are normally short and focused, when you show up late and things need to be repeated you can be perceived as not valuing the time of your group. Of course there will be the rare occasion when something happens out of your control, just don't let that be your normal behavior. Make sure you let your group know in advance.
2. Be clear about what you want - State what you need from the group, don't be shy! don't leave other members guessing. You have your own business needs, be sure to utilize the strengths of the others, be vulnerable and be specific about your needs.
3. Be honest - let your team members know when you believe something they are doing could be improved. Provide your honest feedback and do your very best to provide that feedback with a positive spin. Offer solutions not just critiques!
4. Be supportive - you may not always have a solution or suggestion for another team member but what you can do is to assist in finding a solution. Offer to do some investigating, check out other sources or services. When you do this you will also be learning for your own business. You will have different resources and contacts be sure to put them to good use for your mastermind group.
5. Be Accountable - when you make a commitment to do something make sure it gets done! You want to be seen by the rest of the group as reliable and trustworthy.

I have found that mastermind groups have been extremely beneficial for me in my business. As I learn more and more about running a home based business and develop more skills I become a more valuable team member. It is important to keep learning and sharing your knowledge and skill with your group.
