One of the biggest challenges many of us face when it comes to
writing content for our blogs or articles is that we don't know what to
write in the first place! There really are countless numbers of subjects
for us to write about, we just have to work them out!
Here are 3 different ways to get ideas for blog posts or articles when you hit the dreaded 'blogger's block'.
1. Do Some Keyword Research
Most blogs are written with one main objective. And that is to show up on the first few pages on search engine results. As you're probably aware, using keywords in your blog or articles is will help you get a bigger audience for your content. But you don't want to stuff your content material with keywords to the level that it becomes unreadable.
Having said that, doing some keyword research can help you come up with some good ideas of what to write about! Search for your general chosen niche and then make titles based on the specific keyword phrases people are searching for. The best thing is there's a potential audience searching for this content already!
2. Surf The Net
With so much content already available on the internet, you might think that everything's already been done.
But exploring what others have written can be a great way to spark unique angles of your own blog. Check out blogs, forums, and other related websites, and see what people want or the problems they are struggling with. You can then writing on these issues and really tap into the needs of your target audience.
3. Produce a Mind Map
A mind map is a powerful brainstorming tool for getting ideas for blog posts or online articles. Jot down your keywords or basic topic and try to think about the 'what', 'why', 'who', 'how', and 'where' subjects that can be developed. For instance, let's say your keyword is dog training. Some blog posts you could put together are "What is The Best Style Of Dog Training?", "Why You Should You Train Your Dog In The Fist Place?", "What Is the Easiest And Most Difficult Dog To Train", etc. Then continue with more linked topics from each one of those. It's that simple!
These tips are not difficult to put into practice. It's basically a case of getting yourself into the habit of brainstorming on a frequent basis. And don't forget to keep a notebook with you or have a notes app on your smartphone for those situations when ideas come to you at the most unexpected times!
