Selling products over the internet is a great way to create a
second income. But to really be successful you need to create your own
products.
But how?
Creating many types of products is difficult and resource intensive - especially in terms of both time and money. Far more expensive than most people can afford.
So how do you create simple products to make and sell online?
One of the best product types for this is learning content products. These are information products which are sometimes referred to as self-help products. They consist of products built around teaching people a particular subject.
Learning content products are simple to create. At their simplest, they can be done with your home computer, a headset, and open source or shareware software. Anyone can create a learning content product by following the right system. And everyone has something that they do well enough to teach, that someone else would like to learn.
All it takes is a bit of effort and thought.
There are four formats that you can create learning content products in. Or more precisely four media that you can use.
The most difficult is the eBook. But with the proper system and an environment that helps rather than hinders, even an eBook can be created in a short period of time. All that is required is a computer, a copy of OpenOffice (or any word processor), and an idea. There are many ways you can sell eBook products.
You can publish and sell them on your own website. Or you can use Amazon or Lulu to convert them to sell using an eReader. Or you can even print them and try selling them through the major booksellers.
Audio products are very easy to create. Resources required are minimal. In fact, you can even do it with just your telephone. At the simplest, you can sign up for a teleconference service and then call in. Almost all teleconferencing services will even record your call for you. However, a better method is to use a computer and an audio editing tool such as Wavepad or Audacity.
Both of these are freeware. Add an inexpensive headset and you are ready to record your learning content. This content can then be sold as a physical CD or as a digital MP3 entirely online.
Video products are also easy to create. All that is required is a computer, a headset, a presentation tool like Impress (or PowerPoint if you are willing to spend money) and a free screen recording tool like Camstudio. In this case, you can create a presentation and then record yourself presenting it.
You can even use a text to voice tool if you wish. The result can then be sold as a physical DVD or online as a digital MPEG.
